Visitor Aware is designed to have as few hardware and software requirements as possible, while providing maximum functionality and support. The following are the minimum recommended hardware and software requirements for our systems, separated by category.

Network Requirements
In order to operate effectively, a consistent network connection is required, for both desktops and iPad kiosks.
- Network speed: 10mbps or higher connectivity is recommended for optimal visitor check in and out time
- Network requests for visitor check in and out average approximately 0.5 megabytes
- iPad Kiosks: Wireless network connectivity is required
- Brother QL-810WC Badge Printers: Wireless connectivity is required and network must be 2.4 Ghz for wireless Brother printers
- Watchdog Application: Wireless or cellular connectivity is required

Computer Requirements
- Microsoft Windows: Windows 10 or higher
- Macintosh Computers: MacOS 10.3 (Panther) or higher
- Kiosk Application: iOS 12.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone and iPad.
Browser Requirements for Administration Portal
- Google Chrome 60 or higher
- Firefox 60 or higher
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari 13.0.1 or higher
Other browsers will work with our administration portal, however, some of the more advanced functionality such as realtime notifications may not operate as expected.
Desktop Print Application
The Visitor Aware desktop application enables badge printing support for Dymo LabelWriter printers for when wireless printing is not desired, or not available, and requires:
- Microsoft Windows: Windows 10 or higher
- Macintosh Computers: MacOS 10.3 (Panther) or higher
iPad to Brother Wireless Printer
In order for the Visitor Aware kiosk application to connect to a Brother QL-series WiFi-enabled badge printer, please use the following recommended network configuration:
- The printer and iPad must be connected to the same network
- 2.4ghz WiFi must be enabled for the Brother printer to connect to the wireless network
- The network mDNS service must be enabled in order for the iPad to locate the printer
- This typically applies to Cisco custom configurations and involves adding the _pdl-datastream._tcp.local service if missing
- The printer should be configured to connect directly to the wireless network, and not a print-sharing service on the network
