During student information system syncing, the default behavior is to sync students with imports. This means that students who are not part of a new import will automatically be deleted from the system to maintain parity with your SIS.  This, however, is not always ideal. You can override it on a per-student basis from the administration portal.


Excluding a Student from Syncing

  1. From the left navigation, click People | Students | Add Student
  2. Scroll down and check the box for Prevent student from being removed during a SIS sync? That's it! Now as data is synced from your SIS, any student with this box checked will be retained.

    Caution: When students are excluded from student information system syncing,  their information will not update automatically. It will remain in the system until someone manually removes or updates the information.
