Teacher portals will have a slightly different view than administrators during Family Reunification. This help article will walk teachers through what to expect during a Family Reunification event.
Note: If Safety Drill Manager is being used at your school, drills can include the Family Reunification process to reinforce training on how to take student attendance.
During an active incident or drill where Family Reunification is being used, there are two main phases:
- Student Attendance: Teachers, admin, and staff account for students by marking them as present or by selecting a status from the Change Status drop down menu.
- Family Reunification: This phase begins once the incident has been resolved and it's time to begin accepting guardians on site to reunify with their student(s).
Note: Teachers must confirm their mobile phone number is updated and stored within their user settings to receive their text message login link (https://app.visitor-aware.com/settings/user). By default, all users will receive email notifications containing their Visitor Aware login link granting them immediate access to their respective portals.
Below are two training options that will help reinforce teacher knowledge around the Family Reunification process:
- Video tutorial
- Self-paced tutorial
