As you begin your implementation of Visitor Aware, members of your school community may have questions about how this new tool will be used. Whether it’s students, teachers, staff, parents, or the community, it’s important to communicate changes impacting school operations.

Singlewire Software has compiled a communications kit to help you keep your community informed about the steps you are taking to ensure student safety by implementing Visitor Aware. This kit features customizable text you can use to share information before, during, and after implementations. It includes suggestions for social media and communication plans for parents, teachers, students, and the press, and provides templates you can easily adapt to your specific tone and messaging. It also provides recommended timelines for communication. We encourage you to use these resources and modify them as necessary to fit your requirements.

*Please note: You are not required to use any of the materials in this kit. This is simply a resource to use as your school or district sees fit.

We encourage you to share the results of your communication efforts with us. Send us your media mentions, news clips, or other public materials, and we'll share them on our website and social media pages. Sharing your story can also help inspire neighboring schools and districts on measures they can take to enhance school safety.
