You may need to adjust a few on-device settings to accommodate optimal check-in kiosk conditions before entering Guided Access.
Keep your Content Active
This setting prevents the iOS device from auto-locking after the specified inactivity interval.
- To adjust Auto-Lock Settings, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock.
- Set to Never.
Disable Auto-Brightness
To help conserve the device's battery life, the auto-brightness feature can be disabled.
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size >Auto-Brightness.
- Turn Auto-Brightness off.
You may prefer to lock down iPads to the Visitor Aware Check-in Kiosk Application to prevent visitors from tampering with the device's Home button.
Note: Newer iPads may not have a Home button.
Note: School staff or administrators can set a passcode (in the workflow below) and use the Home button to return the device to the main menu.
