The Carline Scanner is a feature designed to streamline and enhance the carline pickup process. If you are a carline user, this guide will explain how to access and use the Carline Scanner functionality within Dismissal Manager.


Dismissal Manager



  1. In the left navigation panel, click Dismissal Manager and View All. The Dismissal Manager page appears with six dismissal-type tabs. 
  2. Click the tabs to see the students in the associated Dismissal Type:
  • Bus
  • Carline
  • Parent Pickup
  • Walker
  • After School Program
  • Unassigned (default status at the beginning of the school year)
  • Carline Scanner

Note: All tabs include a Released button except for the Carline Scanner tab. Students assigned to the Carline Scanner Dismissal Type must be scanned to be released. There is no option to change the date the student was scanned.

  1. Click the last tab, Carline Scanner, to queue students for the carline. From the Carline Scanner modal, you have two options to select the appropriate guardian:


  • Scan the guardian’s QR code -OR-
  • To manually queue students for carline pickup, begin typing the guardian’s name (the person with pickup privileges) in the Find a Guardian field and select the guardian’s name
  1. (Optional) In the Lane field, select the lane for the student. 
  2. All students for whom the guardian has a relationship appear in the table. 

    Note: When a student is temporarily assigned to a temporary guardian, the student's name will also be listed under the Students section for that guardian.

  3. Click the Queue button next to all students you'd like to queue for pickup.

Note: The queued students will be added to the Carline tab on the Dismissal Manager page.

  1. (Optional) If you need to view the guardian’s profile, click the View Profile button. 
  2. Click the Close button.
  3. (Optional) Easily filter by status in the Dismissal Manager table (above) to view the students in each different status:
  • Requested: Queued for the carline
  • In Progress: Student is on the way to the vehicle
  • Completed: Student entered the vehicle and departed
  • Not released: Student has not left the school
  • Dismissal Change: Filter displaying students with dismissal-type changes
  • Released: Student has left the school
