Congratulations on your new Visitor Aware account! Getting started is quick and easy, and typically takes just a few minutes from account creation to checking in your first visitors.


Note: If hardware still needs to be purchased, please reference the Recommended Hardware page.


Your account settings are pre-configured right out of the "box". Complete steps one and two below to begin checking in visitors at your first location. Let's start by getting your kiosk(s) up and running by selecting the appropriate guide below.


Step 1 - Quick Setup Guides:

Select your desired kiosk implementation and follow the linked quick start guide instructions for deployment:

  1. iPad Check-in Station with Wireless Printer (Recommended)
  2. iPad Check-in Station with USB Wired Printer
  3. Web-based check-in station with USB Wired Printer

Note: The recommended implementation of Visitor Aware is with an Apple iPad. This allows your visitors to check in quickly and easily without involvement from staff, provides high-accuracy identification scanning, and allows for direct badge printing.


Step 2 - Share Usage Guides (Secretaries and Lobby Staff):

Select the appropriate quick start guide(s) to share with your office staff based on the type of kiosk implementation(s) being used at your facility:

  1. Front desk usage guide for iPad Check-in Stations with wireless printers
  2. Front desk usage guide for iPad Check-in Stations with USB wired printers
  3. Front desk usage guide for Web-based Check-in Stations with USB wired printers

You're now ready to begin checking in visitors at your first location!


Step 3 - OneRoster Data Integration (K-12 Schools):

A OneRoster data sync is required to use the following features within Visitor Aware:

  • Student management (secure sign-out/in, self sign-out/in, late arrival)
  • Family Reunification
  • Dismissal Manager
  • Hall Manager

If you plan to use any of the above listed features, we'll need to integrate with your student information system. To begin the process of enabling this integration:

  1. Submit a support request asking for assistance with syncing student information system data.
    1. Include the name of your student information system.
    2. If applicable, mention if ClassLink is an available option.
  2. Support will reach out with further instruction, guiding you through the entire process.

Note: OneRoster syncing is not supported for POC and Demo customers. Please reach out to your sales representative for more information.
